Nearly half of US kids want in-game currency this Christmas

I went with my son to his friends house a few years ago, about 9. Me and his mom were hanging out while the kids gamed. Her son played roblox. I never liked the game, and know there are thousands of other games to play that aren’t so predatory, so my kid was never introduced to it. Anyway, his friend was playing so I let my son play too for this day. After a time, her son asked for $10 for Roblox. Mom said not today and the child had a full meltdown. It hurt my ears he was screeching so loud. My son just froze and stared at his friend. It looked similar to a panic attack crossed with a toddler temper tantrum. Once he calmed down, she let him back on the game, but we went home. Certain games turn smaller children into addicts. Roblox is definitely one of those games, it seems.

Roblox is ready to grow up

Roblox is what Meta vr aspired to be. It’s kids socializing, creating things, selling them, playing with each other, playing against each other. The user created content can be quite good, my 13 year old always goes back to Roblox like he used to with Minecraft.

Pretty much ALL of Hbomb’s substantive examples from the video are from CTRL-ALT-DEL which is like … the worst example imaginable. Because it’s a video specifically about CAD (that’s why the video is literally titled “Ctrl + Alt + Del”) not webcomics in general. There are some references to other gaming comics and what they generally don’t do well but it’s preamble for why CAD is the worst. The whole point of this video is to be about Ctrl + Alt + Del and the guy behind it. And as an aside, really Harris, web comic artists as targets? No, it’s specifically about the CAD guy. He doesn’t talk about the other webcomic artists. These and other extremely sane takes from the guy that brought you an almost 2 hour long video on the goddamn Roblox “oof” sound effect. I’m curious what other “takes” you think he has if you didn’t even realize why the video called CAD primarily talks about CAD.

Is Windows 11 worth installing over 10?

Honestly if you’re ok with a little tinkering you can use Linux for gaming nowadays. I fully switched about a week ago using NixOS, so far it’s been pretty smooth sailing, and generally better performance than when it ran windows Have run overwatch, diablo, modded Minecraft (with shaders) and a bunch of steam games so far. Have yet to run epic games on it but I’ve heard it’s pretty seamless with a launcher called heroic (which imo works better than epic’s own one anyway) Only games I’ve found that don’t work are because of deliberate effort on the devs’ part (Halo MCC, Roblox and dragon ball breakers)
