I can't find a Lemmy post. Can you guys help me find it?

I could swear I had favorited it, but… well, I didn’t. The title had (I think) something related to “starter pack”. The items listed were: WataMote Girl Lucky Star Girl “i want a failure boy/girlfriend” Sanrio (Something pink I don’t remember) “but I don’t wanna hurt you!” roblox discord

Roblox, Discord sued after 15-year-old boy was allegedly groomed online before he died by suicide

Roblox said it is designed with “rigorous built in safety features” and is “continually innovating new safety features — over 100 this year alone — that protect our users and empower parents and caregivers with greater control and visibility.” The fact that they are framing it in this manner “100 features in this year alone” (what does this even mean?) suggests that they don’t care.

???

I’d probably be tempted to use Roblox if it was the new way to replace LinkedIn

Roblox rule

This can’t be true. There is no way Roblox effectively blocks 4 year olds from playing.

Anon likes a thing

Roblox. I played it as a kid around 2007 when it was just a small Lego-like building game with your friends. It’s been really weird seeing it become some predatory, monetized app game that kids play on their iPad now. For reference, I’m almost 30 and haven’t played it since I was like 14. My friend’s kid was playing Roblox on his tablet and asked if I “heard of this new app game called Roblox” and it hurt my soul.

Mastodon says it doesn't 'have the means' to comply with age verification laws

The fact that they haven’t gone for this approach that delivers age verification without disclosing ID, when it’s a common and well known pattern in IT services, very strongly suggests that age verification was never the goal. The goal is to associate your real identity with all the information data brokers have on you, and make that available to state security services and law enforcement. And to do this they will gradually make it impossible to use the internet until they have your ID. We really need to move community-run sites behind Tor or into i2p or something similar. We need networks where these laws just can’t practically be enforced and information can continue to circulate openly. The other day my kid wanted me to tweak the parental settings on their Roblox account. I tried to do so and was confronted by a demand for my government-issued ID and a selfie to prove my age. So I went to look at the privacy policy of the company behind it, Persona. Here’s the policy, and it’s without a doubt the worst I’ve ever seen. It basically says they’ll take every last bit of information about you and sell it to everyone, including governments. https://withpersona.com/legal/privacy-policy So I explained to my kid that I wasn’t willing to do this. This is a taste of how everything will be soon.

Roblox gets banned indefinitely in Turkey over “child exploitation”

most people are focusing on the free labour roblox is extracting from kids but from the article: Further claims stated, according to Turkish media, that Roblox hosted virtual parties promoting pedophilia and that “robux,” the platform’s virtual currency, was being distributed by bot accounts to encourage children’s involvement in these activities, and excess presence of gambling sites and their predatory tactics. so it looks like roblox was banned because of bad moderation in regards to gambling and sexual predators, both of which are massive issues of the platform. overall i think this is a good move which hopefully will push roblox to do better.
