What Are Your Hobbies? Trying to Find Something New

Fursuiting is something I have very alowly been getting into, as in have had 2 chances to do it safely. Wouldn’t recommended unless interested/curious, furry or not, and you don’t have any health issues stopping you from doing it. Suit heads get hot, airflow can sometimes be an issue, and vision can be a big problem. It’s why I recommend fursuiting’s cousin cosplay more for more people. I got my head/paws ( separate purchases ) because I was going with a college club I’m a part of to an anime con and have wanted to do this for a long time, as a furry. Got a tail at that con. Seller told me he just finished that tail that morning, so I got lucky. Still learning my limits in suit, especially with regards to vision. Thought about going to my cities local pride parade with my suit, but didn’t feel like getting heat stroke. Also thought about going to the local comic convention in suit with my non-furry non-cosplayer dad, but I didn’t know it was happening the same weekend as the parade, so I missed my opportunity because I looked it up the Monday after, curious when it was gonna be. I have also been in the process of trying to get back into writing. Specifically by rewriting/updating some old fanfiction. I know a few people who think fanfiction is nothing but slop, bit I absolutely disagree. It’s no different from fan art: another way to show appreciation for a show/book/franchise/whatever you like. Kinda really got into fanfiction writing back in 11th/12th grade and started getting back into it more now because I think more people should appreciate and write it because it’s fun and it’s rewarding to read in general, fanfiction or otherwise. This comment excludes the normal stuff ( gaming and watching shows ).

True. My area has a surprisingly large amount of motorcycle clubs, and most of them are just bored office workers and managers. A lot of them don’t even own any bikes. It’s just cosplay for people who thinks dressing up like 90s macho outlaw characters can compensate for their neutered existence as capitalist drones.

How to cosplay as a Republican for midterms?

I’m in the US and as we all know they’re definitely planning on using ICE at the polling booths for voter intimidation. I look quite democrat/liberal (long hair, below average body hair, slightly chubby with low muscle, straight teeth) so I’ll probably be a target for it. I’ve been thinking of dressing up as a Republican so I’ll be less likely to be targeted. I don’t wanna scare people or get in trouble so I’m not going to do something as obvious as wearing a Confederate flag. I also can’t change my appearance that much so I don’t get flagged for my ID. What I do to look like a Republican without scaring others or getting in trouble?

All it’s done, from this outside perspective, is allow a huge number of people to cosplay as rugged militia rebels but who, far more often than not, just end up sucking boot for their nearest tyrant.

I saw some videos of some vlogger who visited Israel and then visited Palestinian towns; he was like ‘everyone told me not to go to Israel cause I’d be in danger, but they were nice to me’, and then going to Bethlehem he was like ‘everyone told me not to go to Palestinian areas cause I’d be in danger, but they were nice to me’ Yeah the Israelis were nice to you cause you’re white and you’re not an anti-zionist; and Israel isn’t trying to colonize your home town either. It’s not whether or not they’re nice to you, it’s whether or not they can be nice to the people whose homes and lands they invaded; the Palestinians on the other hand shouldn’t have to be nice to the Europeans and Americans cosplaying as Middle Easterners literally burning their towns down.

Okay the title is clickbait some of the berries were planted and there will be some non berry fruit too because I am an anarchist. Please do not expect responses to pedantry about common names in the comments. I encourage you to share what you call what you see, but insisting on 1-to-1 matching of a common names to scientific name is foolish at best. Back deck We did not put these here. There are at least two types of Rubus, and they are even poking up through the deck in places. Delicious! Garbage shed/pea gravel/driveway The pea gravel (pre-existing) has been colonized by strawberries. I believe these ones are wild. The fruit are tiny and sweet. We get one or two a year as they are very popular. There are one or more Rubus popping up by our garbage shed/junk heap and some of the plants what extend on to the driveway are diseased or stressed or something. This year may be the year I finally move all the wood chips away from the fence. After that I will keep this area more tidy and clear, and build a new shed to keep the garbage/recycling in that hopefully keeps out the messy assholes that ravage them. You can also see some nightshades there. Don’t eat those berries. Front yard: We’ve got some Rubus popping up along a fence where we have some sour cherries and sand cherries, as well as some shade perennials. I remove these then I weed the area but haven’t done that for a few weeks. Sometimes the Rubus pretend to be other plants. Here, they are cosplaying as pansies. For some reason I have wild grapes on my lawn too. I hazard a guess that they are Vitis riparia. This is an alpine currant (Ribes) planted here as an understory companion to the crabapple (pre-existing). Neither of those two are for people food, but there is a lot of strawberry down there too. This collage is two photos of the same sour cherry. We’ve just let the two cultivars we planted (Juliet and Crimson Passion) spread. You can see the new growth on the left side of the right photo: the leaves are more yellow. Bonus photo of what it looked like when we planted it: They have had good years and bad, and needed constant attention in the second year, but it’s paying off. Next is another Ribes, which I think is getting harvested today. It’s in a guild with the Winter Banana (apple). It is also apparently a toilet. There is a white ribes with the honey crisp, but neither are thriving this year. I think the ornamental rhubarb sucked the life out of them. It’s taller than I am (not pictured). A cherry may be moving in too: Here is the cover photo again, with the Thimble Berry hanging out with the loosestrife. I think it’s Rubus occidentalis but I think we can understand why these are called thimble berries also: Next up we have groundcherries, which you might know as gooseberries but I know them as things that look very cool but do not taste good. These are volunteers from plants we had years ago that just keep self seeding in different places. I didn’t notice any volunteer tomatillos this year but those are cool too. This year they decided to hang out with the lupines and poppies. Back yard: Maple tree There are at least three types of Rubes here, including a different thimbleberry lol (Rubus odoratus). I think my partner tried transplanting some canes here on a whim but I don’t think three different kinds… Here is another Ribes and the choke me daddy bush (choke cherry). Both were planted. Where we actually planned the berries It’s really hard to capture just how thicc the berries are. This photo has two types of elderberry (Scotia and York), a Logan Berry, Lingonberry, two raspberries (heritage red and Nova red), two blueberries, wild and cultivar strawberries and a Gooseberry (ribes). This is the gooseberry that got porcupined to death. Maybe there is still life in the roots. This is a collage of various strawberry clumps which act as ground cover. I remove it from many places be I want a clear place to walk, but I don’t need to walk everywhere… The following collages should be pretty self explanatory: One of two Saskatoon berries: Another Ribes! And a service berry! And a ground nut! It’s blurry but I am too lazy to go back out. High bush cranberry which we planted last year when we gave up on finding a service berry that we could fit in the car. Two blueberries and a Lingonberry! Plus a loganberry and some strawberries that just showed up. Four haskcap cultivars, because they need to be cross pollinated. We don’t get many of them lol. Things we did not plant there: backyard edition Elderberry, loganberry and Rubes that hopped the fence: Rubes peaking out from the Spotted Touch Me Nots: (Wild) Dogwood trying to blend in with the Rubes but didn’t know they were a compound berry… Various berries gentrifying the tomatoes beds after the groundhogs obliterated them More wild grape, but clearly creeping in from the neighbours yard. It has replaced the wild cucumber that was there a few years ago. This is much nicer. This elderberry thinks it is garlic: I hand weeded this bed of Rubes in the spring. I was gonna put some diakon there. How silly of me. I hope you enjoyed this tour berry much.

I liked him as Garrett in A Minecraft Movie. I know that’s not really like the best example of good acting lmao, but it’s what comes to mind. He was my favorite character in the movie and I even cosplayed as him. I thought him and Jack Black as Steve had pretty good chemistry and were able to bring a plausibly deniable gay angle to the characters. (“Let my hips guide you!”)

Many in my family fought the Nazis once, some caught bullets doing it, and we’ll do it again if we have to. The only communists I’ve ever known were some elderly Wobblies, who were amazing people, and a few middle-class wankers who cosplayed Trotskyism, Stalinism and/or Maoism at my college. The latter almost all ended up working for Daddy’s company or being investment bankers once they graduated.

including “the output is unacceptable bad” Anyone with this view instantly goes in the “doesnt know wtf they are talking about, skill issue” bin. “the tools are built in unethical and morally deficient ways”. For coding, not really tbh. People are also deeply misinformed on this as well. People are still operating on assumptions of how these tools work like its 2023 and not 2026. The luddites haven’t been keeping up with the modern standards and probably couldnt even describe the nuance of when to choose a tool vs a skill for an optimization… let alone can speak as to what tools or skills to be using. If you dont have opinions on how you’ve found stuff like caveman and headroom to work for you, I just straight up dont consider your opinion to be up to date enough to matter. A big part of my job now is interacting with companies who have only just started to dip their toes into using these tools and so many developers are getting the sudden realization that keeping their head buried in the sand for the past 3 years has ruined their resume. The difference between devs that at least tried to stay on top of things vs the luddites is palpable. And on the total other end of the section you have fake devs cosplaying as real ones vis AI-everything but have 0 clue how to actually code. Only the senior devs who both know how to code and how to use AI efficiently are aggressively outpacing everyone else.
