I would imagine the doujinshi is allowed as long as it’s still fan made. For instance the Wikipedia page has a fan made cosplay of Squirtle. By the same logic as long as the manga’s depiction of Squirtle is also fan made (or drawn) then it also seems to get a pass. It would seem the issue is less how their assets are used and more that their specific assets are used.

The difference between cosplaying as a fascist, which western consumers tend to despise, and actually behaving like one, which those same consumers reward with open wallets and high praise. Nolan has alienated more than a few A-list actors with his directing style. He’s got a work-product which constantly glazes militarism, valorizes authoritarianism, and takes itself far too seriously to afford room for a bit of humor. After that, he’s just Michael Bay minus some explosions. Brilliant cinematographer. But the underlying work never fails to disappoint.

He is quoted by RIA Novosti and Interfax here, therefore pretty reliable that he actually said it. The fact that he said anything at all is itself very, very telling. Here’s why: It acknowledges the pressure that is being created by Crimea’s isolation. By extension, this says volumes about both the Ukrainian army’s momentum and capabilities and also the limits and impotence of the Russians. It shows an urgency and desperation that holding Crimea is still very important to them. But in acknowledging the crisis, it also implies that ‘we are working on it’. Meaning - a solution isn’t imminent. In a sense - it asks for patience. Critically - They don’t know what to do. If they did - this being a matter of logisitics, supply and tactical air defense - they would have simply done it, and wouldn’t need empty platitudes directly from the president about unspecified “solutions”. It shows the situation cannot be ignored anymore and that a statement from the Tsar was necessary. Remember - this is a regime that didn’t bother to make presidential statements when they were rolled back significantly in Kharkiv, Kherson counteroffensives, or when their sovreign territory was literally invaded in Kursk. They didnt even acknowledge losing their AWACS fleet, losing 1/3 of their strategic bombers in Operation Spiderweb. He didn’t say anything to acknowledge the threat of the Wagner mutiny. He doesn’t even make statement when Moscow itself is bombed. But losing control of Crimea is a completely differnt class of crisis to what’s come before. Everything else has been survivable. Losing Crimea wouldn’t be. For all the talk of him being misinformed and kept in the dark - this statement suggests he is very aware of the situation and the criticality of saying it. I’ve never believed the “he’s not being told the truth” garbage. This entire stupid project is his personal legacy. He is deply invested and the success of the war is not something he would delegate to the deliberately limited sycophants and not pay very close attention to. Everyday statement from him are made about “the war is going according to plan”, “We are advancing in all directions”, “we will prevail” nonsense. He almost never, ever makes specific statements about specific challenges or failures on any front. This is what makes this statement acknowleding Crimean difficulties interesting. He acknowledges it, because he must. Or someone with some influence over him has convinced him that he had to. One of their responses has been to activate the “Good Tsar, Bad Boyars” Repeaters again. Forget Peskov - he’s just a mannequin facing the world obtusely, saying nothing. Lavrov is a troll fool with thick skin cosplaying as a diplomat. The real Krelin spokemen for internal messaging and narrative testing are a different type. You’ve seen them, wondered who they are and where they come from. The come, say the same things for a while, then go, and new ones appear. Here’s what I mean: In Russia, some Z-Bloggers are permitted to speak very freely about how the nature of the problem isn’t the invasion itself - the problem is russia is being too gentle. That they should unleash tactical nukes to assert their greatness and hasten their inevitable victory, because…Russia Stronk. They portray themselves as having inside knowlege, above average intellect, well spoken, yet Russian “Everyman” types who seem to know more than a private citizen should know. They have strong opinions about the macro strategic goals, but also the micro level experience of Russian individuals at the same time. And they also have a rare freedom to criticize the prosecution of the war that gets others arrested. Why is this tolerated? Pretty rare combination of skills and, maybe even courage? They don’t hide their identities or locations - in fact, they speak specifically about who they are, where they’re from. Well…it’s not courage. And here’s why. It’s because they’re intelligence agents, with a purpose, acting in a role called a Repeater that broadcasts a signal. In the early days, it was separatist leader Strelkov who played this role, til he went too far criticizing Putin personally. Or maybe his message started to lose it’s resonance. At any rate - this role has been taken over by a bearded nut named Evgeny Golman who pops up in different places, but usually releasing unhinged shouted messages from his car. He rants and raves about the failures in the invasion, the economy, the impacts to civilians, repeats his patriotic hatred of Ukrainans, and of course says that the problem isn’t the war itself, it’s that Russia is being too nice about things. They should progress to nukes, logically, because Russia is so awesome and victory is inevitable. Their audience is the russian thinking man, to be the voice of a more objective realistic view of things. The script, repeated over and over is the same under Golman as it was under Girkin. Why are they allowed to say such things? Because they are following orders, and playing the role of the fervent nationalist who speaks for another crowd in a “FINALLY, someone said it” sort of role. Classic “Good Tsar, Bad Boyars” - that the president is being misled by corrupt and ineffective administrators. Shift the blame for failures away from the leader and onto faceless, nameless traitors inside the regime. This tactic has been used for centuries in time of crisis in Russia. Repeaters serve another purpose. Since they are FSB agents, you can be very sure that the intelligence services pay close attention to who is listening to their messasge. Who likes it, who subscribes, who views, who reaches out to engage, who reposts their content. That is a more intelligent, more capable and more dangerous group of people to keep your eye on. In short - it gets a message out, tests the narrative, and gathers an audience of possibly-wavering doubters to keep a digital eye on. It’s a trap to flush out potential conspirators among a more capable audience. But back to Crimea - the fact he personally had to make a statement suggests this is a big problem and they don’t know what to do about it. This is what the start of an accelerating process of a loss of control over a territory looks like. Wonder how efficient the grain harvest is going to be this year with the price and general shortage of diesel. There’s a saying that society is a couple missed paycheques away from anarchy. If the harvest fails and grain rots in the field, things will spiral quickly. Russian morons who ‘aren’t interested in politics’ aren’t coping well with the inconvenience of summertime fuel shortages will develop sharper opinions if they have to deal with this on an permanent basis. Their disbelief about fuel queues will progress to much more uncontrollable panic if they literally see countrymen start to starve and become refugees flooding into the cities. The average russian has very little empathy for anything outside of the 1 square foot of land they’re standing on. But they are being now touched by the consequences of the war being fought in their name. It’s early days of this new phase of Russian Shortage, and the irreversible effects of an absolute energy crunch are going to be felt for years, even if the figthing stopped today. We may be on the cusp of a cascading worsening of everything that relies on logistics, and maybe even a series of total disasters and even an actual famine in parts of Russia during 2027 that can’t be concealed. China and probably the Trump admin will be sending food aid to Russia within a year if they can’t harvest their own. India is already sending fuel and asking Ukraine, nicely, not to destroy those imports in transit on humanitarian grounds. One presidential statement is not the endgame. But the fact he had to acknowledge it at all is a MASSIVE signal that control of the entire project is slipping away from the Kremlin’s grasp. And that their negotiating position, if one even exists, is getting worse. What do you think? Let’s have a chin wag.

In the first, federal agents shot and killed a man and quickly got to work justifying the use of force under the flimsiest of pretenses. In the other, it made house calls to people who said mean things to them online. Since taking office last year, the Trump administration has been telling us that fighting the good fight of white supremacy will make you look cool and noble. The DHS under former Secretary Kristi Noem spent $220 million to help her cosplay as a cowboy and call up ICE recruits as if we’re fighting a new World War, this time against our friends and neighbors. It’s all very embarassing. The propaganda is cringeworthy. But the immigration crackdown it services has been, undoubtedly, cruel and deadly. In Texas just this Tuesday, an ICE officer shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a father of three who lived in the US for 35 years building houses and caring for his family. The agency immediately released a statement justifying lethal force on someone it alleges tried to “weaponize his vehicle.” Videos showing parts of the confrontation already suggest it’s probably another bullshit story like the ones we’ve seen from Minnesota. The feds later admitted they were looking for an entirely different person. Salgado Araujo nonetheless ended up dead. ICE has proven it can’t handle public confrontation. That’s bad. But it also can’t even handle emails and Instagram posts. It’s demanding a total lack of accountability not only from the law, but from society itself. Over the past year, DHS has invented its own novel version of “doxxing” — once the domain of angry gamers on the internet — wherein the public now dares to unmask and name federal agents who have been responsible for horrors like the killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis. The government doesn’t want us to talk about the agent accused of shooting her to death (whose name, by the way, is Jonathan Ross). Before being shot to death, Good told agents, “I’m not mad at you.” They killed her anyway, then called her a “fucking removed.” The government is very upset that people are criticizing it for shooting innocent mothers to death in the street. DHS stalked and intimidated a man who protested against state-sponsored killing, issuing him a “WARNING NOTICE” as flimsy as the nonjudicial “warrants” it uses now to bust into people’s homes. It’s like if Jay and Silent Bob showed up at your house because of an online comment you wrote, except with guns and the force of the federal government. It’s both deadly serious and deeply unserious. What are they afraid of? Well, we already know. Accountability in any form. Minnesota officials had to sue the federal government for access to evidence that would aid in investigating ICE shootings because the feds won’t cooperate. It would be a weird thing for the feds managed by an allegedly pro-cop party to do, except when you consider it’s not really a pro-cop party, what with the January 6th insurrection. The current White House webpage about January 6th calls it “a date which will live in infamy” while moping about cop-killers being unfairly treated and saying Democrats did the real insurrection. Yeah, they’re lying. But also, seriously: weak crybaby stuff. This of course all ladders up to Trump, whose project for more than a decade has been to accumulate power while eliminating the concept of shame and accountability. The man cannot tolerate a single slight without going off the rails, nor can his subordinates. This posture has trickled down to his army of fellow losers who mirror him in several ways: (1) denying any wrongdoing, (2) blaming others, and (3) intimidating anyone who crosses them. In some really bad cases, (4) obstructing justice. Then there’s also (5), looking really lame while doing it. … ICE is a menace to democracy and its murderous conduct should be soberly considered. But we should also recognize that these people are weak and sad and ought to be made fun of. Even for their stupid outfits, which look ripped from a “how to be tacticool” buying guide. And Americans are ridiculing these people. What better way to protest an army of clowns than by showing up as Portland did with a human frog at the front? Cops arrested that frog. Trillions of dollars later, we’ve learned nothing about counter-insurgency, because now there’s a frog legion. These ICE agents are so small that they wear masks in public like a bunch of cowardly Patriot Front wannabes, who probably got a similar amount of training. You’d think the average DMV worker would have been masked up for years based on the abuse they get, but then again, the average government employee is far braver than these fools. ICE is now the highest-funded law enforcement agency in the federal government. If you know anything about the actual waste, fraud, and abuse of federal funding for defense, you’ll know this is not something that guarantees quality or competence. This is just Donald Trump’s new private domestic army. I’d call them Stormtroopers except for the fact I’m pretty sure some of them are getting their uniforms and body armor from Temu.

Platner’s Daniel Moraff Barred from Summer Lee’s Campaign Over Sexual Misconduct Complaints

Now, Moraff, who recruited Graham Platner to run for Senate in Maine, is at the center of a massive controversy after he admitted that he spent only a few days vetting Platner, who just withdrew from the Senate race after he was accused ofremoved. Given the fact that both Congresswoman Lee and Justice Democrats stop working with Moraff following these accusations, questions have been raised about why so many on the left trusted him to give a thorough vetting and assessment of Platner. “Birds of a feather flock together and Moraff and Platner were predators,” said one woman, who says she was sexually harassed while working to elect Congresswoman Lee. The Toys “R’ Us Heir Who Broke the Costa Political Machine in Pittsburgh Graham Platner’s guru and top strategist, Daniel Moraff, was the grandson of Seymour Ginsburg, the founder of Toys “R” Us and its first president. As the head of Toys “R” Us, Ginsburg was innovative, shaking up the toy market across the United States and helping make it one of the largest big-box toy stores of the 1990s. His grandson, Daniel Moraff, likewise was an innovative force who shook up Pittsburgh politics. Moraff played a bold leadership role in beating the old Democratic machine in Western PA, electing a string of socialist magistrates and local elected officials. In 2017, Moraff led efforts to recruit Summer Lee, then a local community organizer, to run for the State House from Pittsburgh’s Mon Valley. He then played an essential role in leading her campaign to defeat Paul Costa, a 20-year incumbent from a historic Democratic machine, whose family held four major elected offices, in a little less than one year. However, by the end of 2022, Moraff was barred from participating in Lee’s historic run for Congress, in which she overcame $5 million in AIPAC spending to become the first Black woman elected to Congress from Western PA. Payday Report has learned that Moraff was barred from Lee’s campaign following at least three complaints of sexual misconduct leveled against him, leading Lee to ban Moraff not just from his previous leadership positions in her campaign, but from even attending campaign events for Lee. In the winter of 2022, consultants working for the group Justice Democrats, which was founded by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and was assisting Lee, told activists, staff, and volunteers to stop communicating with Moraff, despite his repeated attempts to contact them to influence Lee’s campaign. Given that both Lee and Justice Democrats were refusing to work with Moraff after multiple sexual misconduct claims against him, questions are raised about what people in the movement should have done to address these Platner Revived Moraff’s Career after Sexual Misconduct Allegations Sanders with Platner May in Orono, Maine. In 2024, Moraff and his partner Leanne Fan traveled out to Nebraska to recruit Kellogg strike leader Dan Osborn to run for Senate as an independent. Riding the popular support he received as a strike leader, Osborne exceeded expectations in his race against two-term Republican Senator Deb Fischer, losing to her by a mere 6%. Moraff, with his career revived, sought to build on his brand as a consultant by recruiting other unusual politicians who could appeal to white working class voters. In the summer of 2025, Moraff was sent a video of Platner advocating against an industrial salmon fishing farm, where Platner lived in Frenchman Bay, Maine, a wealthy seaside community outside of Bar Harbor. A marine combat veteran from an elite wealthy Maine family, Platner served four tours in combat overseas. After returning from combat, he attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C., while working as a bartender at one of Capitol Hill’s most infamous dive bars, the Tune Inn. Drop Site News founder Ryan Grim, who has drawn criticism for trying to debunk well-documentedremoved claims against Platner, admitted to first meeting Platner when Platner was a bartender at the Tune Inn. On a "Breaking Points broadcast with his co-host Krystal Ball, Grim blushed about how Platner had been his bartender for many years at the Tune Inn. “You would be maybe the second bartender serving in Congress, but you would be the first one that I knew when he was a bartender,” said Grim as Platner smiled and laughed. "You worked Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at - I was often there every Sunday night. “I was basically there every Sunday and some Friday and Saturdays,” Grim told his millions of viewers as Platner broke up a big smile. In July of 2025, Moraff and his partner, Leanne Fan, traveled to meet with Platner and recruit him to run for the US Senate against Susan Collins. After a week of conversations, Moraff persuaded Platner that he could receive the backing of U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and raise the millions needed to win the Senate seat. A month later, on August 19, 2025, Platner launched his campaign for Senate. “Everywhere I’ve gone it seems like the fabric of what holds us together is being ripped apart by billionaires and corrupt politicians profiting off destroying our environment, driving our families into poverty, and crushing the middle class,” Platner said in his announcement video. Less than two weeks later, Senator Bernie Sanders endorsed Platner at a Labor Day rally in Portland on September 1, 2025, emailing millions of followers across the country, encouraging them to give to Platner “We need senators in Washington who are prepared to take on the billionaire class and fight for working people,” said Sanders at Portland’s last Labor Day rally. “That is why I am proud to endorse Graham Platner for U.S. Senate." Within a month, Platner had raised $3.2 million with Sanders’s backing. While other left candidates were considering running for Senate, Sanders’s political and financial backing of Platner dissuaded serious challengers, guaranteeing Platner the left lane of the Democratic primary against Maine Governor Janet Mills, who had angered many labor unions and progressives in the state. Many on the left began to scratch their heads about why Sanders would endorse Platner so quickly given the combat veteran’s thin public record. However, Moraff assured Sanders that he had vetted Platner and thought he was solid. Given Moraff’s prior relationships with Summer Lee and Dan Osborne, operatives in Sanders’s political network decided to back Platner. “Without Moraff’s assurance, there is no way Bernie backs Platner,” said one longtime political operative, who worked with Bernie, and refused to be named publicly for fear of retaliation. Platner’s Persona Unravels Under Media Scrutiny Platner fishing in the Bar Harbor community of Sullivan, where he lives in Maine Quickly, though, questions began to emerge about how much work Sanders and Moraff had done in vetting Platner. While campaign videos distributed by the Sanders campaign described Platner as a working-class oyster farmer, this was far from the truth. Platner’s grandfather, Warren Platner, was a wealthy interior designer and architect who designed the iconic restaurant Windows of the World on top of the World Trade Center and the headquarters of the Ford Foundation. His father was a wealthy attorney and his mother owned a high-end restaurant outside of Bar Harbor, Maine. His father gave him the money to buy a house and his mother bought his oysters for her high-end restaurant outside of the tourist haven of Arcadia National Park. Platner lived on a $60,000-a-year military pension and by all accounts did not struggle to pay bills. Then, in October, photos of Platner drunk, stripped down to his underwear, and dancing at a family member’s wedding went public. The photos revealed that Platner had a tattoo on his chest that resembled the Totenkopf, the symbol of the SS. Platner claimed that he got the tattoo in Croatia in 2007 while drunk with other members of his Marine unit. Many Zionists used photos of him drunkenly exposing his tattoo to claim that he was a Nazi. However, many anti-Zionist Jews, including myself, pointed out that the skull and crossbones symbol resembled many such symbols regularly used in the punk rock world. Deleted Reddit posts began to emerge with Platner making various racist and misogynistic statements. In one post, Platner even mocked a video of an Army soldier, Teddy Daniels, who was wounded and crying for help in Afghanistan in 2012. The video of Daniels pleading for his life was widely mocked and had over 23 million views on YouTube. Many soldiers, especially Marines, including Platner, mocked Daniels, a recent recruit, for failing to follow proper procedures. ​"This video never gets old," joked Platner in a 2019 Reddit post. “Dumb motherfucker didn’t deserve to live. At least his stupidity and fat ass wheezing are available for all future infantrymen to witness and hold in contempt. Potato's feral berry tour

Okay the title is clickbait some of the berries were planted and there will be some non berry fruit too because I am an anarchist. Please do not expect responses to pedantry about common names in the comments. I encourage you to share what you call what you see, but insisting on 1-to-1 matching of a common names to scientific name is foolish at best. Back deck We did not put these here. There are at least two types of Rubus, and they are even poking up through the deck in places. Delicious! Garbage shed/pea gravel/driveway The pea gravel (pre-existing) has been colonized by strawberries. I believe these ones are wild. The fruit are tiny and sweet. We get one or two a year as they are very popular. There are one or more Rubus popping up by our garbage shed/junk heap and some of the plants what extend on to the driveway are diseased or stressed or something. This year may be the year I finally move all the wood chips away from the fence. After that I will keep this area more tidy and clear, and build a new shed to keep the garbage/recycling in that hopefully keeps out the messy assholes that ravage them. You can also see some nightshades there. Don’t eat those berries. Front yard: We’ve got some Rubus popping up along a fence where we have some sour cherries and sand cherries, as well as some shade perennials. I remove these then I weed the area but haven’t done that for a few weeks. Sometimes the Rubus pretend to be other plants. Here, they are cosplaying as pansies. For some reason I have wild grapes on my lawn too. I hazard a guess that they are Vitis riparia. This is an alpine currant (Ribes) planted here as an understory companion to the crabapple (pre-existing). Neither of those two are for people food, but there is a lot of strawberry down there too. This collage is two photos of the same sour cherry. We’ve just let the two cultivars we planted (Juliet and Crimson Passion) spread. You can see the new growth on the left side of the right photo: the leaves are more yellow. Bonus photo of what it looked like when we planted it: They have had good years and bad, and needed constant attention in the second year, but it’s paying off. Next is another Ribes, which I think is getting harvested today. It’s in a guild with the Winter Banana (apple). It is also apparently a toilet. There is a white ribes with the honey crisp, but neither are thriving this year. I think the ornamental rhubarb sucked the life out of them. It’s taller than I am (not pictured). A cherry may be moving in too: Here is the cover photo again, with the Thimble Berry hanging out with the loosestrife. I think it’s Rubus occidentalis but I think we can understand why these are called thimble berries also: Next up we have groundcherries, which you might know as gooseberries but I know them as things that look very cool but do not taste good. These are volunteers from plants we had years ago that just keep self seeding in different places. I didn’t notice any volunteer tomatillos this year but those are cool too. This year they decided to hang out with the lupines and poppies. Back yard: Maple tree There are at least three types of Rubes here, including a different thimbleberry lol (Rubus odoratus). I think my partner tried transplanting some canes here on a whim but I don’t think three different kinds… Here is another Ribes and the choke me daddy bush (choke cherry). Both were planted. Where we actually planned the berries It’s really hard to capture just how thicc the berries are. This photo has two types of elderberry (Scotia and York), a Logan Berry, Lingonberry, two raspberries (heritage red and Nova red), two blueberries, wild and cultivar strawberries and a Gooseberry (ribes). This is the gooseberry that got porcupined to death. Maybe there is still life in the roots. This is a collage of various strawberry clumps which act as ground cover. I remove it from many places be I want a clear place to walk, but I don’t need to walk everywhere… The following collages should be pretty self explanatory: One of two Saskatoon berries: Another Ribes! And a service berry! And a ground nut! It’s blurry but I am too lazy to go back out. High bush cranberry which we planted last year when we gave up on finding a service berry that we could fit in the car. Two blueberries and a Lingonberry! Plus a loganberry and some strawberries that just showed up. Four haskcap cultivars, because they need to be cross pollinated. We don’t get many of them lol. Things we did not plant there: backyard edition Elderberry, loganberry and Rubes that hopped the fence: Rubes peaking out from the Spotted Touch Me Nots: (Wild) Dogwood trying to blend in with the Rubes but didn’t know they were a compound berry… Various berries gentrifying the tomatoes beds after the groundhogs obliterated them More wild grape, but clearly creeping in from the neighbours yard. It has replaced the wild cucumber that was there a few years ago. This is much nicer. This elderberry thinks it is garlic: I hand weeded this bed of Rubes in the spring. I was gonna put some diakon there. How silly of me. I hope you enjoyed this tour berry much.

In fact, you’re making the opposite case: if there are people whose actions anchored on that self-contained set of more or less internally consistent rules majorly impact others, that’s even more reason to try and understand the rules of their fantasy and be capable of making arguments within then so as to maybe sway some such cosplayers from creating problems for other people by misusing the rules of their fantasy to rationalize negativee actions outside their fantasy universe. The rational/irrational boundary is not in the being able to understand and operate with a set of self-contained rules in a fantasy setting or not, it’s in believing or not that said fantasy setting matches objective reality as we perceive it.
